Our project identified 12 good practice bio-based business models which descriptions are available in e-Tools section “Explore good practice bio-based business models and real-life inspiring examples”:

• Model 3: District Heating and Electricity from Various Biomass Sources;
• Model 4: Specialized Heat and Electricity Production and Services;
• Model 5: Innovation in Novel Fuels and Bio-chemicals;
• Model 6: Circular Bioeconomy in Agricultural Production;
• Model 7: Bio-based Fertilizer for Increased Soil Quality;
• Model 8: Sustainable Bio-based Products from Plant-based Biomass;
• Model 9: Sustainable and Novel Bio-based Products from Food Waste and Biomass;
• Model 10: High-value Products from Knowledge-based Processing;
• Model 11: High-value Products from Circular Bioeconomy;
• Model 12: Utilization of Municipal Waste and Sewage.
In Chapter 2.2 of “Report on good practice implementation guidelines for circular bioeconomy development and a training programme targeted at regional/local public authorities in the BSR”, support system for each of these business models is described applying value chain analysis approach. Meanwhile, in Chapter 2.3 of this report, macro- and micro-level support measures are provided and investigated.
