This sub-section of e-Tools provides virtual library of more than 100 management instruments (laws, strategies, programmes, etc.) that countries in the BSR use to promote the development of sustainable circular bioeconomy.

Search engine of this library enables to find management instruments containing various support measures that are applied in a particular country, for a particular sector, and that are of a particular type. Search by word or phrase is also possible.

The library contains management instruments of 7 countries located in the BSR and particularly those applied in the sectors of bioenergy, agriculture and food, forestry and wood, municipal waste and sewage. Included management instruments encompass the following types of support measures:

• Fiscal support measures: CO2 tax, tax incentives/credits, market introduction programmes, removing subsidies on fossil fuel industries, fossil carbon tax, etc.;
• Regulatory support measures: quotas, mandates, bans, green public procurement, etc.;
• Societal support measures: harmonised sustainability assessments, labels, certificates, etc.;
• Sustainability support measures: obligatory GHG emissions goals for chemicals & materials, tighter environmental standards for chemicals & materials, self-committed targets on bio-based, becoming part of a renewable carbon strategy, land use led restrictions, etc.
